Order issues, returns & freight claims
Most freight problems are easy to resolve when they are documented at delivery. Here is how to receive a shipment and what to do if something is wrong.
At delivery
Inspect before you sign
- Count the palletsCompare the pallet count with the delivery receipt / bill of lading (BOL).
- Check the wrap and cartonsLook for torn stretch wrap, crushed or wet cartons, and leaning or broken pallets.
- Write it on the BOLNote any shortage or visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing, e.g. "2 cartons crushed". A clean signature makes claims much harder.
- Take photosPhotograph the shipment on the truck and after unloading, including labels and any damage.
After delivery
If something is wrong
- Keep everythingKeep damaged cartons, balls and packaging until the issue is resolved; the carrier may inspect them.
- Check for concealed damageOpen cartons promptly. Damage found inside undamaged packaging must be reported quickly to be claimable.
- Contact GES right awayShare your order or quote reference, the signed BOL and photos. GES coordinates carrier claims and replacements.
Common situations
How issues are handled
Damaged in transit
Document the damage on the BOL and in photos, then contact GES. Freight damage is handled through a claim with the carrier.
Short or wrong shipment
If the pallet count, size or colors don't match your order, note it on the BOL and contact GES with your order reference.
Returns & warranty
Return eligibility and warranty terms are set out in your formal quote and the GES terms of sale. Contact GES before sending anything back.
