How many ball pit balls do I need?
Multiply the pit's length × width × fill depth to get cubic feet, then use about 186 balls per cubic foot for 2.2" balls, 163 for 2.3" balls and 63 for 80 mm balls. A 10 × 8 ft pit filled 18" deep needs roughly 20,000 balls in 2.3". The order calculator does the math for you.
What size ball pit balls do commercial playgrounds use?
Most indoor playgrounds and FECs use 2.2"–2.3" (55–58 mm) balls, the standard commercial size that suits small hands. Larger 80 mm (3.15") balls are popular for trampoline park pits, deep ball pools, sensory rooms and toddler areas.
